Mantou
Cooking Method:
- 1. Steam – Pour a cup of water (250ml) in the pot (recommended to have a bit more water to avoid drying out in the process of steaming). Place a steamer/ rack in the pot and bring the water to the boil. Take the mantou from the freezer and place it on a plate. Place the plate in the pot, cover, and steam for 12-15 minutes on medium heat. Then turn off the heat and leave it in the pot covered with a lid for 5 minutes before serving.
- 2. Microwave -Take the mantou out of the freezer. Open the package, rinse the mantou with cold water. Then place the mantou on a plate (for microwave use), cover with microwave safe cling wrap, and microwave for 2-5 minutes. It’s best served hot.
- 3. Frying – Heat up a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add some oil and spread the oil evenly. Take the mantou from the freezer and put it in the non-stick pan. Then pour a bowl of water (about 100-150ml) into the pan, and cover with a lid. Let it fry for 12-15 minutes on medium low heat until the water has evaporated . When the mantou is golden brown on one side, turn off the heat and serve.
- 4. Deep Frying – Pour some oil into a pot. Heat it to 165-170 degrees over medium heat. Remove the mantou from the freezer and cut it into thin slices. Carefully put them into the pot, and deep fry for 7-10 minutes, or until mantou turns golden brown. Put on a plate and serve.
- 5. Air Fryer – Cut the frozen mantou into halves. Then spread unsalted butter over them.Switch the air fryer to 200 degrees for 7-8 minutes. Add some condensed milk before serving
